Farhad Ghaseminejad

B.Sc. (Honours)

I completed my B.Sc. in honours biology at UBC in 2018 and I am currently a master's student in UBC's Experimental Medicine program. I am interested in gene therapy for the treatment of retinal degeneration and vision loss. In the Moritz lab, I will be generating a knock-in humanized mouse model for retinitis pigmentosa that expresses the T4K mutation in the human rhodopsin gene.
Concurrently, I am developing treatment methods using CRISPR/Cas9-mediated gene editing strategies in X. laevis models for retinal degeneration.

I enjoy playing volleyball, running, hiking, traveling and photography.
